Hello there

My name is Graham Ries and I am truly passionate about my LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I would very much like to meet up with people, men and women, who share and equal or deeper passion for Him. Actually I prefer to use a Hebrew Name for Him – Yeshua Ha’mashiach Ben Elohim. As far as I’m aware this means Jesus, the Anointed One, Our Messiah, the Son of God…

I’m entirely new to the blogging game and will probably make a number of horrendous mistakes before I get it right – but the heart is there. The LORD has given me some wonderful people to lead in starting a group for broken people. So many of us are so badly broken in this world, and so many of us – I’m talking about Christians now, although I prefer to use the word “Believers” instead of Christians, simply because the word Christian has too many ugly connotations attached to it – besides, when we study scripture we find that the word ‘Christian’ was only ever used in a derogatory sense anyway…

We’ve decided to call our little group the “Un-broken Broken”. Yes you’re right, it is a weird name! Let me tell you our thoughts behind it…

King David wrote in Psalm 51 (verse 17) that a broken and contrite heart were his gifts to the LORD. The Contemporary English Version puts it like this…”The way to please you is to feel sorrow deep in our hearts. This is the kind of sacrifice you won’t refuse. The Living Bible says “It is a broken spirit you want—remorse and penitence. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not ignore.”

Either way, there are so many of us – myself included – that are operating from hearts that have been utterly shattered by life, and the LORD said to me one day that the only people who could really help those that are broken, are people that have themselves been broken, and have managed to recover.

I was a presenter on radio when the concept came to me and I mentioned it once or twice. Within a few days the LORD had brought me the people that now make up this core group. We have a wonderful woman who is busy recording everything that happens in the group and her work, with all of the names and some of the things that have happened changed, will make up a guideline for others who would like to start similar groups all over South Africa. So watch this space for developments in that area please…

The other thing is that I have a registered Christian Mnistry called the Paul Project – hence the name of this blog. Please go along and have a look at the website at http://www.thepaulproject.org.za. Have a browse about…

On it you will find a collection of Christian posters for sale – these are purely to raise money for the ministry.

I have also written my first book – you will find details about it here – www.thepaulproject.org.za/loveencrustedbaseballbat.html.

More coming later…
